Quarterly meet-ups with Montrose Rec District teen employees and staff.
During the meetups, we discuss local and national statistics, provide education on recognizing signs of harassment, and offer guidance on being a responsible bystander.
The conversation opens the floor to sharing incidents witnessed and discussing how they were handled or how individuals wish they had been handled.
We establish a standard foundation for moving forward, which includes designating “backup” and “handlers” for non-tension-filled confrontations.
Additionally, we create posters, educational information sheets, and stickers to be displayed or placed in facilities.
